Gov. Mike Braun has appointed Amber R. Van Til, president and CEO of the Indiana Bankers Association, to the Indiana Commission for Higher Education. Her term will run through June 30, 2030.
Van Til is a past chair and current trustee of the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and its Herbert V. Prochnow Educational Foundation.
She also serves on the governance and industry committees of iLab, an organization helping establish youth apprenticeship programs across the state, and has been instrumental in the IBA launching its own apprenticeship program, the Financial Services Academy, as part of that initiative.
“I am honored by this appointment and the opportunity to impact the next generation of Indiana’s workforce alongside Secretary Jenner and my fellow Commission members,” Van Til said. “Having spent my career working with Indiana’s business community, I’ve seen firsthand the importance of aligning higher education with workforce needs. Strong partnerships between educators, employers and policymakers are essential to preparing the next generation of leaders and keeping Indiana competitive.”
Created in 1971, the Indiana Commission for Higher Education is the State’s higher education coordinating agency, working to improve economic and social mobility for fellow Hoosiers through postsecondary education and training. The Commission also administers Indiana’s state financial aid programs, including 21st Century Scholars.
Van Til is a graduate of the University of Indianapolis and of the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law.
