The Michigan City Police Department graduated 12 more officers from the Crisis Intervention Training (CIT) just presented by the LaPorte County Crisis Intervention Team.
The Michigan City Police Department now has approximately 35 officers trained in CIT, which gives officers the tools and resources to better communicate and provide resources to those that are dealing with mental health illness and trauma.
The training was facilitated in partnership with the Drug Free Partnership of LaPorte County.
