The first ever Blow Away Breast Cancer rally at La Porte Hospital will commemorate breast cancer awareness month in the community and serve to celebrate and honor those who have been affected by a breast cancer diagnosis. The event will take place at 1 p.m., Oct. 8 at La Porte Hospital, 1007 Lincolnway, La Porte, on the front lawn near the flagpole. In case of inclement weather, meet in the hospital’s main lobby. A concrete restoration project will start Wednesday in the southbound lanes of I-65 in Lake County, between 61st Avenue and U.S. 30. During the project, southbound traffic on I-65 will be split, with one lane to the right and two lanes to the left during the day. At night, traffic will only pass in the one lane to the right as crews work in the left lanes. The fall wild turkey hunting season and the early archery season started Oct. 1 and firearms season runs from Oct. 17-28. The late archery season runs from Dec. 8, 2018 to Jan. 6, 2019. The bag and possession limit for the fall seasons is one bird of either sex. Fall archery season is statewide. A semi lost a coil yesterday evening causing the I-80/94 eastbound to Ripley Street south bound ramp to be closed for approximately two hours. On Wednesday, just after 5:30 pm, a 2000 Volvo semi pulling a covered flatbed, was eastbound on I-80/94 in the right lane when he abruptly had to brake and swerve to avoid an unknown car that cut him off. The coil that was loaded on his trailer rolled off and went across the exit ramp to Ripley Street south bound ramp.  This caused damage to the roadway and the south side guard rail. The coil came
