Franciscan Health and Geminus Regional Health Systems will host a free car seat safety clinic on Tuesday, May 31, at the Franciscan Health Michigan City legacy campus located at 301 W. Homer St. The clinic, which is open to Indiana residents by appointment only, will be from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Free car seats, provided by a grant from Geminus Regional Health Systems, will be installed by a certified technician while supplies last. The Queen of All Saints Festival is back with music and food. Unfortunately due to worker shortages they are unable to bring in rides this year, but are still trying to plan a fun time for all. The festival will run from June 10th-12th. Friday and Saturday hours are 5-12 pm and Sunday, open from 12-10 pm. On June 10th they will feature the band, "Nawty", at 7 pm. Paladin has teamed up with CityHunt to announce their first annual Scavenger Hunt to benefit Paladin on June 24. Those attending will meet up for a family friendly pre-party then you and your team of 4-6 players will race against each other and the clock through Uptown Michigan City to answer trivia questions and take photo challenges to upload to the app. A live leaderboard will keep score and everyone will end up at the same location to announce winners. The City of La Porte has announced that the first annual LEAP (La Porte Economic Advancement Partnership) Olympics will be held May 16-20. Employees, board members, and their immediate family members have the opportunity to participate in 8 sports and events during the week. Teams must be co-ed consisting of 1/2 male and 1/2 female. Kicking it off will be the crowd-favorite Taco Fest on Friday, July 8, from 6-10 p.m. at La Stitch, the newly created event space at the corner of Lincolnway and Monroe.
