Tiesha Monique Moore is in custody following a 5-month manhunt that spanned throughout three states. Moore was located, and taken into custody by TCAT (Twin Cities Apprehension Team) on Monday afternoon, in Michigan City in the Walmart parking lot. TCAT was assisted by the Michigan City Police Department K9 Unit, Officer Mike Oberle and second shift Officers Brinkman and Charo. Moore had a total of 16 outstanding warrants at the time of her apprehension from both Stearns and Benton Counties. She was wanted for Felony 1st degree criminal damage to property, felony domestic assault, felony theft, felony aiding and abetting

Phil Mason of Michigan City High School in Michigan City, Ind. has been named the Colts/NFL Coach of the Week. Mason was nominated and selected for the award after leading the Class 5A No. 4 Wolves to a 52-8 victory over LaPorte. Michigan City has won four straight games and has outscored opponents 192-49 over that span. Mason will be recognized at an upcoming Colts game (12/16 vs Cowboys).

Saint Mary's College in Notre Dame has announced President Janice Cervelli has resigned after nearly two-and-a-half years on the job. In a letter to faculty and staff, Board Chair Mary Burke says Provost Nancy Nekvasil will serve as interim president "for as long as needed." The school did not give a reason for the resignation, but in her letter Burke thanked Cervelli for her contributions during her tenure. Cervelli began as president in June 2016. On Saturday, September 29, the Michigan City High School Wolfpack Marching Band competed in the Indiana State School Music Association (ISSMA) Festival Class Championship at Crown Point High School. The Wolfpack Band received an overall Rating of Gold while also picking up a special Distinction Caption in the area of Visual Performance. This year's show is titled, "A Dream Within a Dream." The Michigan City Police, after working relentlessly throughout the night into Friday, have officially charged two subjects in the homicide investigation in the 200 Block of E. 6th Street that occurred at approximately 8:30pm, on October 4th. The victim, Nathanial Havis age 60, of Michigan City was shot and killed hours before his 61st birthday and was pronounced deceased at the scene by the LaPorte County Coroner. The first ever Blow Away Breast Cancer rally at La Porte Hospital will commemorate breast cancer awareness month in the community and serve to celebrate and honor those who have been affected by a breast cancer diagnosis. Attorney General Curtis Hill announced that he is leading a 12-state coalition seeking the dismissal of a federal lawsuit filed by King County, Washington, against five fossil-fuel companies. A concrete restoration project will start Wednesday in the southbound lanes of I-65 in Lake County, between 61st Avenue and U.S. 30. During the project, southbound traffic on I-65 will be split, with one lane to the right and two lanes to the left during the day. At night, traffic will only pass in the one lane to the right as crews work in the left lanes. Also, while crews are working at night, the ramps connecting 61st Avenue to southbound I-65 will be closed. Those ramps will remain open during the day. Schedule for closures is as follows (times
