LAKE COUNTY, Ind. -- Two drivers were hospitalized after a head-on collision Saturday in Lake County, according to Sheriff Oscar Martinez. On Saturday, at around 4:35 p.m., Lake County Sheriff’s Department patrol units were dispatched to the area of 2100 W. 169th Avenue in unincorporated Lowell for a two-vehicle crash with injuries. A preliminary investigation indicates a Ford Escape SUV was traveling eastbound on 169th Avenue and a Kia Soul SUV was traveling in the opposite direction when the vehicles were involved in a head-on collision. Leichty after pleading guilty to distributing methamphetamine and possessing a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking offense, announced Acting United States Attorney Tina L. Nommay.
