Shooting in the 2300 block of Normandy Drive leaves one adult injured-the latest from the Michigan City Police Department On January 28th at 11:27 AM, the LaPorte County Regional Dispatch Center received a 911 call regarding a person who was found injured in the 2300 block of Normandy Drive, which is located within the Normandy Village apartment complex. Officers from Uniform Patrol Shift 1 responded to the scene and located a 19- year-old male suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the right arm. LaPorte County EMS transported the victim to Franciscan Health hospital in Michigan City for medical treatment.

The Slicer girls easily defeated the lady Wolves 63-31 while the boys game was the definition of a barn burner. While La Porte lead throughout the game City stuck close and did not back down. Only three points separated the teams as the clock hit zero. Venezuelan National Sentenced to 30 Months in Prison-For Unlawful Possession of a Firearm SOUTH BEND – Guillermo Zarate-Martinez, 29 years old, of Venezuela, residing in Chicago, Illinois, was sentenced by United States District Court Judge Damon R. Leichty after pleading guilty to unlawful possession of a firearm by an illegal alien, announced United States Attorney Adam L. Mildred. Zarate-Martinez was sentenced to 30 months in prison.
