News Release, Indiana Department of Natural Resources: Governor Mike Braun and the Indiana Department of Natural Resources (DNR) announced organizations in 18 Indiana counties will receive $1,297,500 in grants to fund 21 lake, river, and watershed land treatment projects through DNR's Lake and River Enhancement (LARE) program. “Indiana’s lakes and streams are vital natural resources, supporting strong communities, wildlife habitat, and recreation,” said Gov. INDOT has announced that traffic has returned to the eastbound side of I-94 between U.S. 421 and State Road 49. Crews are now moving the concrete barrier wall over to prepare for westbound traffic to switch over to counterflow lanes on the eastbound side, currently scheduled to occur the evening of Tuesday, August 4. Resurfacing will then be ongoing on the westbound side through the end of August in this area.

The City of La Porte Board of Public Works and Safety Tuesday approved the acceptance of a $5 million READI 2.0 (Regional Economic Acceleration and Development Initiative) grant to support the development of the new La Porte County Family YMCA facility, according to La Porte Mayor Tom Dermody. In La Porte there are projects along Johnson Road and Division. First Division Road is closed from Whispering Road to Fail Road as they repair a drainage tile. This project begins at 3 p.m. and will last all week. On Johnson Road a milling crew yesterday finished ½ mile from 400 North.  Today, July 28, they are finishing the mainline milling and then start on the approach milling. The paving crew yesterday made it ½ east of 500 West. Today they are continuing where they left off and heading west.
