Yesterday morning deputies were advised of a stolen vehicle traveling within in the city limits of La Porte. The vehicle, a gray Buick Encore, had recently been reported as stolen to authorities in Porter County. At approximately 7:30 AM, Deputy Justin Phillips located the stolen vehicle traveling east on McClung Road. A high-risk traffic stop was initiated at the intersection of McClung Road and Park Street. LAKE COUNTY COURTHOUSE EMPLOYEE TARGETED IN ARREST WARRANT SCAM FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Fraudsters are at it again in Lake County, Indiana.  This time, they targeted an employee at the Lake County Courthouse with a phony arrest warrant demanding $8500. New Jersey Man Sentenced to 78 Months in Prison For Drug Offense SOUTH BEND – Juan Aquino, 53 years old, of Elizabeth, New Jersey, was sentenced by United States District Court Judge Damon R. Leichty after pleading guilty to possessing with intent to distribute 500 or more grams of cocaine, announced United States Attorney Clifford D. Johnson. Aquino was sentenced to 78 months in prison followed by 4 years of supervised release. According to documents in the case, in December 2023 Aquino obtained four kilograms of cocaine from Colorado and was transporting it back to New Jersey in hidden vehicle
