The LaPorte County E-911 Regional Dispatch Center received multiple 911 calls on August 29th at approximately 07:44 PM regarding a personal injury motor vehicle crash on West US Highway 12 at County Line Road that involved a sport utility vehicle and motorcycle. Multiple officers from Uniform Patrol Shift 2 quickly responded to the scene and noticed that both operators involved in the crash were suffering from personal injuries. Officers provided life saving measures to the motorcyclist and first aid to the driver of the sport utility vehicle. An Indiana Department of Transportation contractor will close State Road 16 between County Road 280 West and County Road 180 West on or after Tuesday, Sept. 3. State Road 16 will be closed through late Oct. for a bridge deck overlay preventative maintenance project over Bice Ditch. Motorists should seek alternate routes. LA PORTE COUNTY, Ind. - An Indiana Department of Transportation contractor will have alternating lane closures on State Road 4/Monroe St between State Road 2/Lincolnway and Boyd Blvd starting on or after Tuesday, September 3. Work will include patching and resurfacing, curb and gutter replacement where necessary, and ADA compliant sidewalk ramps. The roadway will be reduced to one lane and flaggers will direct traffic in the area where work is occurring. Temporary closures for sidewalks and intersecting crossroads will also be necessary during ADA ramp reconstruction. This project will be ongoing through late November. The Michigan City Department of Water Works will begin the semi-annual fire hydrant flushing on Monday Sept. 9. This is done to insure the hydrants are in working order for the fall and winter months. The Department of Water Works says the program should take approximately eight weeks to complete. The department also says if anyone should experience any discoloration in their water, they should let the water run for a short time and the water will clear.

Brisco after pleading guilty to being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm, announced United States Attorney Clifford D. Johnson. JASPER COUNTY, Ind. - Indiana Department of Transportation maintenance crews will be conducting spot paving operations on I-65 northbound between mile marker 217 and 224.
