Further restrictions planned for I-94 at U.S. 20

PORTER COUNTY, Ind. - Indiana Department of Transportation contractor Hawk Enterprises Inc. will have further restrictions on I-94 eastbound near U.S. 20/Exit 22 this week as part of the replacement of the box truss structure in this location. The right lane of eastbound I-94 will be closed approaching U.S. 20/Exit 22 from approximately 9 p.m. Wednesday, May 7 to 6 a.m. Thursday, May 8th for temporary barrier wall removal. La Porte Police Department officers graduate from Northern Indiana Law Enforcement Academy

The La Porte Police Department on Friday congratulated Officers Matthew Buell and Sean Mattmann on graduating from the Northern Indiana Law Enforcement Academy. Seasonal Parking Restrictions are now in effect for Ogden Dunes

The Town of Ogden Dunes is informing residents that parking restrictions are currently in effect now through September 30. Permits will now be required to park within the restricted area. U.S. 20 to have lane closures near Rolling Prairie

Indiana Department of Transportation contractor Rieth-Riley Construction will conduct alternating lane closures on U.S. 20 between C.R. 250 E and Oak Knoll Rd beginning on or after Monday, May 5. Bridge work to begin at S.R. 49 and S.R. 2

IDOH NEWS RELEASE: HEALTH DEPARTMENT URGES PRECAUTIONS AGAINST TICK-BORNE ILLNESS

Indiana health officials are urging Hoosiers to protect themselves from tick bites as ticks are active from early spring through late fall. A fatal case of ehrlichiosis in Floyd County has already been reported this month. The Floyd County Health Department and the Indiana Department of Health are working on the investigation. Indiana reported two ehrlichiosis deaths last year. In addition to ehrlichiosis, Hoosiers are at risk for several other potentially severe tick-borne diseases. While Lyme disease is the most common tick-borne disease in Indiana, Hoosiers are also at risk for a group of diseases that includes Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever. They
