Tippecanoe County, Indiana – On May 15, 2026, just after 4:00 p.m., troopers with the Indiana State Police responded to a fatal crash involving a motorcycle and a school bus at the intersection of State Road 28 and County Road 400 East in Tippecanoe County. Preliminary investigation by an Indiana State Police crash reconstructionist indicates a Tippecanoe School Corporation school bus was traveling southbound on County Road 400 East and stopped at the intersection with State Road 28. The school bus then entered the intersection in an attempt to turn left and travel eastbound on State Road 28. At that

From Indiana State Police-Lowell Post- Two Juveniles, One Adult Killed in Early Morning Crash on I-65 Hobart- Preliminary information obtained at the time of the crash was that one of the deceased was a juvenile. The Lake County Coroner was able to determine that the deceased was an adult, 19 years of age.  The coroners report can be found at this link: I-65 Fatal Crash May 15 2026. Juvenile shot in the 300 block of East 7th Street the latest from the Michigan City Police Department. On May 14th at approximately 9:04 PM, the LaPorte County Regional Dispatch Center received a 911 call regarding a juvenile that was shot in the 300 block of East 7th Street. Officers from Uniform Patrol Shift 2 and the Evidence Response Unit responded to the scene and located a juvenile suffering from a graze wound to their left foot. Last night at 6:29 PM, deputies responded to the area of State Road 39 and CR 950 South reference a personal injury motorcycle crash. The initial on-scene investigation completed by Deputy Jet Balenia and assisting deputies determined the following had occurred. The crash scene was located in the 9200 south block of SR 39. The City of Valparaiso is looking to maximize the lifespan of its roadways with an innovative asphalt rejuvenating treatment called Reclamite®. "This penetrating sealer can be compared to changing the oil in your car. We plan to try this in limited locations in an effort to extend the service life of our roadways, allowing our road maintenance dollars to go further," said Valparaiso City Engineer Max Rehlander.
