LaPorte Community School Corporation Participates in Community Funding Resource Program

INDIANAPOLIS – Treasurer Daniel Elliott announced that the Indiana Bond Bank assisted LaPorte Community School Corporation with project financing through its Community Funding Resource (CFR) Program. The funds will be used for capital projects throughout the school corporation. “The Community Resource Funding Program gives folks up to 25 years to pay back, with the benefit of Indiana’s strong financial position. It’s got steady payments and helps with new or old projects, so our communities can get the funds they need to get important things done, making life better for everyone,” said Treasurer Elliott. MICHIGAN CITY, Ind. -- Registration is now open for the Franciscan Health Michigan City Produce Prescription Program, which aims to assist with chronic disease management. Upon successful completion of the free, four-week program, participants will receive produce vouchers for fresh produce every month for six months. According to the Town of Chesterton- Motorist charged with OWI after driving through scale house on I94 just east of Chesterton A motorist was arrested Saturday night, Jan. 18, after driving through the scale house serving eastbound I-94, located just east of the Ind. 49 exit, the Indiana State Police is reporting. Yesterday morning deputies were advised of a stolen vehicle traveling within in the city limits of La Porte. The vehicle, a gray Buick Encore, had recently been reported as stolen to authorities in Porter County. At approximately 7:30 AM, Deputy Justin Phillips located the stolen vehicle traveling east on McClung Road. A high-risk traffic stop was initiated at the intersection of McClung Road and Park Street.
